Schimmliges Brot zum Frühstück, Zimmer auf dem Stand(ard) der 1970er Jahre, eine aufgekratzt-aufdringliche Gastgeberin, keine Bezahlung per EC- oder Kreditkarte, und über allem der Dunst des hauseigenen Schwimmbades im Erdgeschoß -- als Notlösung sicherlich okay, wenn man nicht zu viel erwartet, aber in jeder Hinsicht weit vom Standard selbst einer Jugendherberge entfernt.
Ich glaube nicht, daß sich in der Zwischenzeit seit meinem ersten (und letzten!) Besuch großartig etwas geändert hat.

Beruflich genutz: Fazit: Besser als auf der Straße aber das war es dann auch schon. War evtl. mal ganz schon, ist es aber definitiv nicht mehr. Sauberkeit und Service ließen zu wünschen übrig. Schöne Gegend aber leider in einem Funkloch. Internet über Smartphone manchmal mit . EGDE nutzbar. Internet wird nicht im Hotel angeboten.

We had booked in for 2 nights but we would have been happy to stay longer. We were made very welcome by Frau Kieser, who spoke good English. ||||The en-suite rooms, on 2 floors were very comfortable and clean, and included at least 2 singles. I believe an apartment is also available. The breakfast buffet was substantial, with a selection of cold meats, cheeses, preserves & spreads, orange juice, cereal, bread, cakes & rolls. No evening meals served, but 3 eateries nearby - a bar with burger & fries type menu, a sports club offering excellent reasonably priced meals (barbecue the night we arrived), and a hotel with an up-market restaurant specialising in fish. ||||The prices were very reasonable - under £35 per person per night, pre-booked and paid in full in advance. NB the hotel does not accept credit cards. ||||The small indoor swimming pool (5ft deep) was very welcome after a long walk in the Black Forest.||||The hotel is situated in wooded countryside beside a babbling brook just off the road from Neuenburg to Bad Wildbad (both about 5 km away), behind the Gasthof Zur Eyachbruecke (which was not open). Some people find the sound of babbling brooks conducive to sleep but for others it may take a while to get used to. Off-road parking. Good hourly bus service to the above towns and less frequent buses to other locations. The hotel is beside a rail track, which I understand is being upgraded to provide an electric tram service between Bad Wildbad and Pforzheim approx. 21km away. Karlsruhe, on the Rhine, was less than half an hour's drive.
